Friday, November 08, 2002 Lesson 3 (Last in Series) For the Fine Residents of San Francisco and the Bay Area
1. You are only fooling yourselves.
2. You are evil, hateful, despicable creatures.
3. You are free to relocate to the people's republic of your choosing. You often speak of the virtues of these wastelands. Put your sickly, stinking bodies where your foul mouths are.
4. You can have your own nationalized systems for yourself, without including others in your demented delusional world.
5. You are not witty, clever, or literate. Quite the opposite.
Thursday, November 07, 2002 Bourjois Effet 3 D Brillance en 3 dimensions Ultra Glossy Lipstick
This is some fine lipgloss! It is less gooey than most lipglosses that produce a similar shiny look, and it has an unusual, yet pleasant fragrance. It uses a brush instead of the usual spongy things that come with lipgloss, resulting in better application. Oddly enough, it stays on for a pretty long time, which I find to almost never be true of a gloss. It has lots of sparkle to it, but not big, glittery tacky sparkle. Also, the colors are absolutely fabulous. Well worth the $14 price.

L'Oreal Lash Architect Mascara
For the record, I'm not on a mascara-buying binge, I'm on a mascara-reviewing binge.
This stuff is definitely different from most other stuff I've used. It's noticeably "harder" in texture, which can make applying it more difficult, at least until you get used to it. It seems to clump up more than other mascara, but it also seems to lengthen slightly more. It makes my lashes noticeably MUCH stiffer than anything else I've ever used, and it seems to really stay put, leaving my lashes as stiff at the end of the day as they were when I applied it. I also like the big fluffy-looking application wand. I believe it was around $4, but I think that was some kind of special price.

Bourjois Coup de Theatre! Mascara
This stuff is pretty neat. It's a two-stage mascara. A white coat is applied first (1. I lengthen my lashes to infinity), then topped with the colored coat (2. I dress my lashes divinely). It works pretty good, with good "staying power". And it's fun, due to the two-step process. However, it really doesn't seem to produce noticeably better results than Max Factor 2000 Calorie (the standard by which I judge other mascaras), and since Bourjois is about $14 and Max Factor's about $5, you're paying $9 for a novelty factor. Still, it's French and attractively packaged, and that's got to be worth something...

Tuesday, November 05, 2002 Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm
This stuff is absolutely great! It is not too dry, not too greasy, minty, but not too minty, colorless, and it stays put. There really isn't any way to adequately describe its myriad virtues. Suffice it to say it is the best lip balm! Or at least it is the best lip balm that I've tried. Or, I think it is definitely safe to say that it's the best lip balm available for $2 at a grocery store.

Monday, November 04, 2002 So Very Much to Say
Since I know pain is a strictly forbidden topic, I will not discuss any of my current pains (which, consequently, I am not currently experiencing). Things seem to be getting more interesting around here (where here = (my world) - (work)). Nothing to report yet, but Fortuna's wheel seems to be on one of those upward cycles. ? There is a certain measure of intrigue, thus my interest is piqued. In other news, 'Dreaux really likes his raincoat now. Yet another morning's walk was accompanied by sad drizzles of cold rain. But both walker and walkee were outfitted in raingear, thus some of the more unpleasant aspects of walking in the rain were alleviated. We still looked like asses walking around in the rain, and arguably even more so, as we were impossible to miss in our neon purple and bright yellow raincoats. But I digress.
So, stay tuned for reading lists, product reviews, and insightful commentary, as all are on the way.
